Testimonials

Some words from our satisfied customers

“In the spring of 1995 Pemba lead our group of four on a month-long teahouse trek through the Khumbu. Starting from Jiri, we went to Gokyo, Kala Pattar, and Chukkugn. Pemba was an enthusiastic, conscientious, reliable, helpful and knowledgeable guide. In addition to orienting us to the spectacular mountains and their names, he pointed out wildlife, taught us some Nepali, shared his perspectives on Nepali culture, and kept us laughing. He was safety conscious and always make sure that the last one in the group (usually me!) was doing ok. I felt I was in good hands and had a great time. I would recommend Pemba as a trekking guide without any reservation.”

“An unforgettable experience. Pemba is just the best guide. He just didn’t show us the Himalayas but he showed us the locals’ way of life by his warm heartedness and friendliness with people. You just have to experience this!”

Pemba has a warm smile and a kind heart that is apparent to anyone who meets him. Not only Pemba is extremely conscientious and reliable, but he gives 200% to ensure that people enjoy their treks with him. He also has a good sense of humour and is happy to teach Nepali phrases and teach about Nepali culture. Pemba was the guide for a study-abroad program during my graduate school training and he effortlessly showed us the sites in Kathmandu as well as taking us trekking in Annapurnas. When I go back to Nepal, I will definitely ask Pemba to be my guide again and I look forward seeing his beautiful, contagious smile.

I have traveled with Pemba in Nepal twice, and I can\'t imagine going to Nepal without him as my guide. Pemba seems to know everything and everyone, and will do anything to make your trip as perfect as possible. During my time in Nepal, Pemba organized every detail to make sure that my group could do and see everything we wanted. Thanks to Pemba, both of my trips to Nepal were life-changing experiences. I would put my life in Pemba\'s hands, and would never set foot in Nepal without him.

We met Pemba on our journey in Ladakh, India, 2004. He was a wonderful guide and cook on the Markha Valley Trek. Pemba told us about the environment and typical habits of Indian and Nepalese people. He is honest, responsible and trustworthy. We had a good time and lots of fun together. We can also recommend you the Annapurna-circuit in Nepal!

In 2003 I met Pemba during a holiday in Nepal. A friend of mine who lives in Kathmandu has invited me to come to Nepal .But I am sitting in a wheelchair, I needed someone who could carry Me sometimes and showed me the country. So there was Pemba: he brought me to places where I couldn’t come with my wheelchair .Pemba is a real nice person with a golden heart. He showed me the most beautiful places of the country. Nepal is a country full of culture and beautiful nature. Without the help of Pemba I never had seen all these things cheers. klaas de boer the Netherlands.

The Nepal trip back in Sep/Oct 2005 was my first real trekking trip .So I could not ask for a better Guide them Pemba. He knows the trek very well, he knows how to deal with the people, he knows how to choose a comfy accommodation with good food (important after a long tiring day) and I know for certain how he has slowed down his walk just so that we can keep up with him. In short, Pemba takes good care of his guests. I look forward to my next trip with him. He guides with his heart. The mountains are his home. And he welcomed us there warmly for more stories and pictures on the trip, visit Cheers,Eva muchtsr. http ://pilgrmnepaltibet.blogspot.com/

My journey to Nepal in September 2005 was an amazing one that I will never forget. `papa’ Pemba, as me and my friends refer to him after few days of travel with him ,was big part of reason. We started our journey with him with rafting on Trisuli River, trekking in Annapurna region, started from Beni to Jomsom , and then flew to Pokhara and Kathmandu . Pemba is not just a travel guide. He’s a great travel companion. He showed us how to really make the best of our journey: accommodation, food and safety wise . He knows the Annapurna trek really well and we didn’t just walk with him. We stopped by at interesting places(such as a little Tibetan village ) , met and talked with the local people , and he smiled with us when we wanted to just stand still and absorb the beauty of Nepal. In short, Pemba is a very responsible person and really knows how to lead and taking care of the group (reminded us of our dear papa) . I had no complained at all. If I have a chance to go back to Nepal, I would definitely ask Pemba for his professional service, to show me more of Nepal, more than just watches written in all those travel books.   This was my first, and not my last, trip to Nepal. I was welcomed by Pemba and Nima on my first day and brought touring around Kathmandu for the entire day. I can’t say enough about how well I was taken care of during my 17 day trip to Nepal. Nima (Sherpa ) and Kanchokpa ( porter ) were kind and patient and helped me reach my goal of getting as close to Everest as I had ever been and were with me every challenging step of the way in seeing incredible sights and climbing three 5000m peaks in 3 days ! They took care of every detail of my stay while I was there including sending my lost luggage over to me which Kenchokpa walked back to get. Nima was a great source of information about the country, the mountains, the expeditions, the history, the people and the politics. I learned so much from him during the trip and had many laughs as well. They became great friends. Upon our return to Kathmandu I was again whisked off more sights around Kathmandu and was fortunate to have lunch with them and meet their families. It was a treasure. We made quite a team and I miss them!

Kisten I had already heard many good things about Pemba and his staff before I came to Nepal in September of 2008. Several friends had already traveled with him, and I decided to contact him as well . We emailed back and forth several times. So, upon arrival in KTM, I was introduced to him at the airport, and I right away knew I could trust him. He made me feel at ease right away, and he assured me that he would find the right trek for me. In November of 2008, I did the 16 days Ultimate Everest trek, while walking from Namche Bazaar , to Gokyo , across the Chola Pass , to Gorak Shep (Kalapatar ,and Everest Base Camp) and back through Lobuche and Tangboche . I greatly enjoyed the entire trek and thanks to the great support of Pemba’s staff, I will always remember it . I had no idea what toexpect before visiting the Himalayas, but I fell in love with the scenery while being there, so I hope to return at some point and I will make sure contact Pemba when I get there.   Last year, 2007 I had the pleasure of visiting Nepal on a trekking tour with my friends for 17 days in the Khumbu region. Pemba was an excellent guide, a great organizer, and a fantastic person to be shown around by. The trekking tour was fantastic in equal measure due to the scenery and Pemba‘s personality and organization skills as a guide, and would like to return to Nepal again, with Pemba as my guide.   Having just trekked the Gandruk/Gorepani loop with Pemba Bhote and his brother Chhiring , I cannot recommend then highly enough .we ( 3 ) were treated so beautifully by them and we all felt just like a family unit by the end of 6 days . Pemba is a very experienced guide and perhaps our trek was more like a walk in the park to him, but he was most attentive to our needs and made sure that our accommodation and food were of the highest standard. We initially selected Pemba as he is the father of some girls at a school we know in Kathmandu and thank goodness we did so he is lots of fun and very efficient. thanks you for teaching us your songs!

It does not surmise me to read all of these positive testimonials. On our recent trek in Nepal Pemba was Outstanding .I do not usually enjoy being ‘guided’ on trips or holidays. However the decision to take Pemba as our guide was the best decision we made. He was genuinely encouraging, intelligent and informative, highly organized and reliable and just great company. We had excellent food, safe water, beds when others didn’t and he was enthusiastic when we spontaneously wanted to change our route :) FANTASTIC!

I have travelled with Pemba and Churing on two amazing trips. The first was in June 2009 to Lo Montang. It was the trip of a lifetime. My sister and I flew to Jomsom (an experience in itself) and then walked to the walled city of Lo Montang with Pemba. We experienced the old monasteries, saw the Tiji ceremony ( masked deities) in the square and were part of Tibetan culture in an unspoilt area very close to the Tibetan border. The monasteries in the caves beyond Lo Montang are incredible and stills are used by monks today. Pemba guided us, organized all the details of the trip and ensured we had exactly the kind of experience we were looking for. Pemba took us to his home introduced us to his family and looked after us like family. He is highly recommended as someone who will organize all details the trip and ensure an unforgettable experience. Many thanks Pemba.

I had the most amazing trip to Nepal in May 2013, thanks to Pemba planning and making all the arrangements for our small group. 6 of us spent a week in Kathmandu and 2 weeks trekking from Lukla to Kala Pattar and EBC. Every detail of the entire 3 weeks was incredibly well planned. Tours in Kathmandu, all meals and accommodations in the city and along the trek were terrific. Our guides, Nima and Dharje were genuinely caring and attentive , always making sure we got the most out of every day. And they made it FUN! In addition to the daily challenges, we laughed...a lot! They were so much more than guides, they became friends. This was an experience I will relive for the rest of my life, and not sure it can be surpassed! Thank you Pemba!!!!

Good morning Pemba! I want you to know that it has been a pleasure working with you…but more importantly knowing you over all of these years since 1998. I talk and brag about you to Nima, Dharjay, and the students! I trust you Pemba and have trusted you from the beginning - that is a good feeling! You obviously know how to select really good guides who can take care of people and be attentive to their needs. Sangree, Simon, Nima and Dharjay did a fabulous job! Every single person on the trip truly adored them and appreciated all that they did and learned from them. Such genuine and kind men and I thank you for that! Thanks Pemba! Rena
